Composing

Composing at Wheatley

Composing at Wheatley is taught through the Sing up programme and links to the classes English quality text where it is applicable. There are many different ways we are inspired to compose; stories, pictures, numbers, other musical works. Composing is taught through modelling and small activites. The children work together as a class and are then set small composing tasks that contribute to the class composition. We use our voices and untuned and tuned percussion to compose with. Through composition we explore different forms of non standard notation.

It is our aim that through the curriculum we provide, children will be able to;
